About Pink Panther
It all started 4 years ago when Nevise Borg Caligari together with her husband Pierre Borg, started organising a yearly charity ride in aid of the abandoned animals. The needs that they were coming across, not only for the animals themselves, but also for the people who took care of the sanctuaries, sparkled the idea of starting a TV program to educate the people about how to take better care of their animals and that pets are not objects that attract our sympathy only when they are young and then we abandon them in the streets.
So mid 2008, Pierre and Nevise kicked off a long-term project called “Pink Panther”. One of the most requested corners is the “Breed” section. The aim behind these features is that whoever intends to introduce in his household a cat or a dog, or a particular breed, would know exactly the necessity and the work that such a breed entails. Unfortunately, when going round the island’s sanctuary they found out that they not only hosted stray cats and dogs but also pure-bred pets. Contrary to the strays, these pets weren’t born in abandoned environment but in a normal home, however they were subsequently thrown out. How many Persian cats do we see in animal sanctuaries? That’s why it is important that people get educated so that they would learn beforehand what commitments they will be going through when adopting a pet, irrespective if it’s a dog or a cat.
Grooming tips, nutritional advices and vet consultations feature equally in the Pink Panther show since it is believed that such tips would improve the life of one’s pet. The Pet competition proved to be a big success with over 1000 photos received in a year’s time!
For the future Pink Panther is planning interesting features however nothing will be revealed except the fact that as from October major changes are set to happen on the set of Pink Panther with more interesting features.
